TONGKAT ALI or its scientific name Eurycoma longifolia Jack is a common herbal shrub usually found along the slopes of hilly terrains of the Malaysia Rainforests. The shrub is known as the ‘Bitter Cures’ because it is really bitter and can cure all kinds of ailments and diseases. It is also known as ‘Pasak Bumi’ or the ‘Earth Fixer’ because of its solid and long winding roots. Its name which is associated with a renowned warrior provides a hidden meaning to its name associating it with the spirit of manliness and health.

  1. Stress Reliever

A research result suggest that after taking a Tongkat Ali supplement for four weeks,researcher found significant improvements in the mood states of tension, anger, and confusion as well as decreased salivary cortisol and increased testosterone in human.

Researchers found that 100 mg/day of a Tongkat Ali  for five weeks increased muscle mass and strength in men participating in an intensive strength training program. At the study’s end, Tongkat Ali was found to have raise free and total testosterone levels and muscular force.

Acetone and alcoholic extracts from the Malaysian ginseng leaves and stem have potent antibacterial agents, according to the results of a study carried out in Malaysia and published in the Saudi Medical Journal. Extracts used in this study were effective against Staphylococcus, Serratia marscesens, Escherichia coli, and Salmonella typhi bacteria strains.
